Financial institutions are struggling to meet the requirements of regulators, and current anti-money laundering solutions are falling short of their needs. At the root of financial crime are felonies involving drugs, human trafficking and terrorism. 

But there’s hope! Artificial intelligence and machine learning offer the promise to help effectively detect criminals. The Sentinels team is building a cutting-edge transaction monitoring platform to help financial institutions meet pressing regulatory requirements, improve compliance workflow, maximise their customer experience, and balance the fight against financial crime.  

Director of Sales | Commercial/GTM Team

Over the past year, we’ve achieved incredible success with our anti-money laundering software Sentinels. With tons of great press, a super competitive product, incredible growth, and amazing industry partners, we’re now ready to scale up our commercial efforts. And we need a motivated and effective Director of Sales to extend our client base further!

The primary objective of this role is to produce new business sales revenue. The Director of Sales is accountable for managing all steps within the complex and consultative sales process, from (cold) lead generation to a signed legal agreement with the client and further supporting the commercial support team for the go live and make sure the committed timeline is realized. 

Responsibilities

  • Built multi-level decision making relationships with your prospects.
  • Lead generation (Contacting prospects via phone, e-mail, personal, Linkedin and business networks)
  • Quota attainment by signing new clients in the payment service providers (PSPs), acquirers, Payment Facilitators, EMI institutions, neo banks and other fintech players.
  • Negotiate complex commercial and contractual terms, with firm commitments
  • Represent the organization at selected industry events
  • Manage Clients as they move through the sales cycle, with a strong focus on reducing their time in each stage of sales cycle
  • Balance expectations of clients and internal stakeholders fairly
  • Be the eyes & ears of Sentinels out in the market for further development of our product
  • Correct forecasting of business against their targets
  • Build out and maintain your pipeline and opportunities accurately in the CRM tool
  • Understand competitor’s products in terms of positioning, features and account acquisition strategies 

Skills & Experience

  • Academic degree pref. in business
  • At least 5+ years proven new business sales track record in an international and quota carrying B2B sales role
  • B2B consultative sales experience is required

  • Exposure or familiarity with technological and financial concepts
  • Prior experience in the payments industry for 3+ years is a plus
  • Advanced verbal and written Business English language skills (Must)
  • Preferably multi-lingual (additional language relevant in the region is a plus) English is MUST
  • Candidates are expected to be conversant in payments and technology and have a solid understanding of the fintech landscape
  • Based in Europe (preferably Amsterdam) and have an EU work permit
  • Customer obsessed, and endlessly curious (you’ve got what it takes to understand complex AI products)
