This role is the perfect intersection of Product and Entrepreneurship, and best suited for senior product leaders that love to preach the Gospel of Product. As Senior Product Manager, you’ll help founders bring their innovative product vision to life, as well as support various product teams across our venture portfolio and industry partnerships to build long-term competitive software products. You will work closely with peers in Software Engineering, AI Engineering, Venture Selection, and Venture Success. Together you will help founders build great products and sustainable companies.
As a venture studio, the industries and markets our products & ventures serve can vary, and no two founding teams look the same. Following are some of the core responsibilities of the Senior Product Manager:
⦁ Enable early-stage startups to develop their minimum viable product. This could be quite hands-on until founders have the skills needed or until we hire to complement their abilities.
⦁ Act as discovery and validation evangelist. Alongside the venture founding team, connect with launching customers and end users to best understand use cases. Help founders translate these insights into a product vision which will delight customers in a distinctive manner.
⦁ Work together with the engineering team to make well-informed, needed, trade-offs between the long & short term objectives, as you collaborate to jointly build and deliver the MVP.
⦁ Set proper foundations - embedding world-class product management practices - for the Product function at Slimmer AI portfolio companies, ensuring they have the needed knowledge to scale this function on their own well into the future.
⦁ Act as a sounding board and coach as needed for the ventures, with a focus on (B2B SaaS) product management. Coach and guide our portfolio companies product strategy outputs. This could include workshops, office hours, creating a ‘Product Fellowship’/network for learning opportunities and more.
⦁ Champion and advance a world-class product mindset at Slimmer AI across ALL teams. This includes helping to evolve Slimmer AI’s product delivery & management playbooks, helping us to continuously improve our quality, speed, and resource intensity.
⦁ Be the voice and face of Product Management at Slimmer AI. Spearhead internal and external thought-leadership, bring external perspectives to the company, and share as needed (conferences, blogs, company meetings etc.)
⦁ Huge huge bonus points for building and maintain an active network of potential co-founders, CPOs, advisors, investors, and team members in the B2B SaaS and AI sector.
⦁ Substantial experience as a product owner or manager (minimum of 4-5 years). You have what we call a true ‘product mindset’. You’re passionate about use cases and ”jobs-to-be-done”. Also, you have a strong UX and design orientation.
⦁ The ability and strong interest to coach and develop startup founders. Excellent EQ and interpersonal skills are a must.
⦁ Hands-on experience in a startup environment, developing prototypes and MVPs based on exploratory conversations with (potential) customers and end users.
⦁ Strong strategic and analytical capabilities. Ability to think long-term and understand business drivers.
⦁ Affinity with B2B software and/or AI is a plus but not a requirement. Trust us: You’ll pick up A LOT about AI by being part of our team. :)
Slimmer AI offers a fun, innovative, and dynamic entrepreneurial environment. We hire quirky talents who dare to take a stand and explore new directions. We empower our team to be self-leading, take initiative, and experiment. With us, you can build great AI software companies and a rewarding career in tech.
